This cross-country skiing trail conquers the entire ridge of the Buková Mountain highlands – the southernmost part of the Orlické Mountains. Set out from the villages of Mladkov or Lichkov, and after overtaking the main ridge with its highest mountain, Suchý vrch, you will come to the Moravian town of Štíty. The entire route is machine-groomed. The area is covered by three marked routes: blue, yellow, and green. This excursion’s route leads partly to the Bouda Artillery Fortification as well as along the Concrete Barrier Educational Trail, which describes and reminds visitors of the border fortifications of the pre-World War II era. One of the interesting points on the route is the Suchý vrch lookout tower, which is part of the renovated Kramářova Tourist Lodge, and is open in the winter as well. At the trail intersection at Červenovodské sedlo Saddle, you can visit the tourist information centre, where you can also buy food and drink.
